A Vivah Muhurat is an auspicious window for solemnising a marriage, chosen from the panchang so that the tithi, nakshatra, vara and yoga of the moment all favour the union. This finder scans every civil day in the date range you give, for your city, and ranks that day's auspicious Choghadiya slots and its Abhijit Muhurta from 0 to 100, listing the factors behind each score. It works one day at a time: Guru and Shukra asta are checked and flagged, while the month-long bars such as Chaturmas and Adhik Maas are not, and stay yours to check.
Kalaprakasika Ch. XIV rules out the months of Ashadha, Bhadrapada, Margasira and Magha (the Sun in Cancer, Virgo, Sagittarius and Aquarius) for marriage. No window is offered on those days.

None of these factors settles the date on its own. Each one moves the day's score, and every window in the result lists the factors that fired on it, so you can see whether a day ranked high on its nakshatra, its tithi, its weekday, or simply on having a clean window free of Rahu Kaal.
Beyond the day-by-day panchang, some longer stretches of the year are set aside for weddings. The finder checks Guru asta and Shukra asta (when Jupiter or Venus is combust) and marks any day on which either is combust, so you can see it on the day list rather than having to work it out. The longer barred months below are NOT applied automatically - the finder works day by day and has no month-level rule - so check them yourself when you choose a date range.
These include Chaturmas - the roughly four months from Devshayani Ekadashi to Devuthani Ekadashi - as well as the Kharmas periods when the Sun transits Sagittarius (Dhanu) and Pisces (Meena), and any Adhika (intercalary) month. If you supply the couple's birth star, the tool also factors Chandra bala and Tara bala so the Moon supports both partners.
Each candidate window carries a score from 0 to 100 and one of four bands: excellent from 72, good from 58, fair from 44, and avoid below that. The candidates are not arbitrary times of day. They are the day's auspicious and neutral Choghadiya slots plus Abhijit Muhurta, the eighth of the daytime's fifteen equal muhurtas, which is itself skipped on Wednesday. The Rog, Kaal and Udveg slots are never offered at all.
Three things block a window outright rather than merely cost it points: an overlap with Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda or Gulika Kaal; a tithi-gandanta band, the junction minutes at certain tithi joins; and a weekday the activity's own source rejects. A blocked window is capped at 40, labelled avoid and dropped from the recommended list, so an election cannot land inside one.
The composite number itself is this site's own editorial weighting, and the page says so rather than dressing it as doctrine: no source, Sanskrit or modern, ranks the five angas against each other numerically. One ordering is attested, and the weights obey it - B. V. Raman, Muhurtha ch. II: "by far the most important ones are tithi, nakshatra and vara" - so no yoga or karana penalty here is ever larger than the smallest tithi, nakshatra or vara penalty.
