Vehicle Purchase Muhurat

A vehicle purchase muhurat is an auspicious time to buy a car, bike or other conveyance, chosen from a favourable nakshatra, tithi and vara in the daily panchang. This finder scans every day in the range you give, for your city, and ranks that day's auspicious Choghadiya slots and its Abhijit Muhurta from 0 to 100. Thirteen nakshatras count as favourable for a vehicle here, and windows falling inside Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda or Gulika Kaal are excluded outright.

Raman ranks the fortification of the Lagna above all five angas. Computing it needs an ascendant per window, so the range is limited to 31 days.

What makes a day good for buying a vehicle

In Vedic electional astrology (Muhurta), a vehicle is signified by Venus, the karaka of conveyances and comforts, so a day with a well-placed Moon and an unafflicted Venus is preferred. The strongest days combine an auspicious nakshatra, a favourable tithi and a suitable weekday, while keeping the actual purchase or delivery outside inauspicious periods like Rahu Kaal.

The factors listed below are the ones this finder actually scores. It reads them from the panchang computed for your city and date, so the same calendar day can rank differently in two cities whose sunrise, and therefore whose day-parts, do not coincide.

  • The thirteen nakshatras this finder scores as favourable for a vehicle are Ashwini, Rohini, Mrigashira, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Shravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhisha and Revati.
  • Its favourable weekdays are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday score lower.
  • Auspicious tithis are preferred, while the Rikta tithis (4th, 9th, 14th) and Amavasya are marked down.
  • The delivery window is chosen outside Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika Kaal, which this finder blocks, ideally in an Amrit, Shubh or Labh Choghadiya or in Abhijit Muhurta.

Strong combinations and festival days

Pushya nakshatra is especially prized for purchases; when it falls on a Thursday it forms Guru Pushya, and on a Sunday Ravi Pushya - powerful buying yogas often recommended for vehicles, gold and property. Festival days such as Vijayadashami (Dussehra), Dhanteras, Akshaya Tritiya and Gudi Padwa are also treated as ready-made muhurats when a personalised date is not available. For the most precise timing, one's own Moon sign (Chandra bala) should also support the chosen day.

Those named combinations are tradition rather than tool behaviour. The finder does not carry a festival table or a Guru Pushya rule of its own: it simply scores Pushya as one of its thirteen favourable nakshatras, and a Thursday as one of its four favourable weekdays, so a Guru Pushya day tends to rise to the top of a scan on its own arithmetic rather than by being named.

Which window to take delivery in

A good date is only half the election. The finder offers windows rather than whole days because the day itself contains periods that are set aside: Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika Kaal, whose lengths follow your city's real sunrise and sunset and therefore differ by date and place. Any candidate window overlapping one of them is capped at 40, labelled avoid and dropped from the recommended list.

What remains are the day's auspicious and neutral Choghadiya slots - Amrit, Shubh, Labh and Char, one eighth of the daylight each - plus Abhijit Muhurta, the eighth of the daytime's fifteen equal muhurtas, which is skipped on Wednesday. Taking delivery, signing the papers or making the first payment inside one of these is the practical way to use the result.

How to find a vehicle purchase Muhurat

  1. Set your city: Choose your city so the Panchang, sunrise and inauspicious periods are computed for your exact location.
  2. Pick a date range: Enter the range you are willing to buy within, so the finder can scan every day for good timing.
  3. Choose a highlighted day: Review the auspicious dates and time windows, then pick one that avoids Rahu Kaal for the purchase or delivery.
  4. Book the window, not just the day: Note the start and end times of the window you picked and complete the payment or take delivery inside it.

Frequently asked questions

Which day is best to buy a new car or bike?

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are the favourable weekdays this finder scores for a vehicle, especially under nakshatras like Pushya, Chitra, Anuradha or Revati. Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday score lower, and the Rikta tithis (4th, 9th, 14th) and Amavasya are marked down.

Is Pushya nakshatra good for buying a vehicle?

Yes. Pushya is considered one of the most auspicious nakshatras for purchases, and it is one of the thirteen the finder scores as favourable for a vehicle. Guru Pushya (Pushya on a Thursday) and Ravi Pushya (on a Sunday) are especially recommended for buying a car, bike, gold or property, though the tool has no separate rule for them - a Guru Pushya day simply scores well on the nakshatra and the weekday at once.

Should I avoid Rahu Kaal when taking delivery?

Yes. Even on an auspicious date, the purchase or delivery is kept outside Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika Kaal. This finder does that for you: any candidate window overlapping one of the three is capped at 40, marked avoid and dropped, so every window it recommends is already clear of them.

Which nakshatras does the finder treat as favourable for a vehicle?

Thirteen: Ashwini, Rohini, Mrigashira, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, Shravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhisha and Revati. A day whose Moon falls in one of these gains points in the score; a Ganda Moola junction nakshatra loses them.

Does this finder check Guru and Shukra asta for a vehicle purchase?

No. The combustion check runs only on the rites whose own source calls for it, such as marriage and Griha Pravesh. Buying a vehicle is not in that set, so a day on which Jupiter or Venus is combust is neither flagged nor scored down here. If you want to avoid an asta period for a large purchase, check it separately on the Graha Asta page.
