This column has two witnesses: the devata as the Jyotisha handbooks transmit it, and the Taittiriya Brahmana's nakshatreshti (III.1.4-5), which prescribes an offering to each asterism's deity by name. Both are shown side by side rather than merged into one.

The Brahmana gives BOTH Aryaman and Bhaga to the Phalgunis and uses the dual throughout (phalgunibhyam) - it never says which of the pair is purva and which uttara. Read in the order the two offerings are prescribed, Aryaman falls to Purva Phalguni; the handbook tradition assigns the pair the other way round. Neither reading can be eliminated from the text alone.
