There is no Sanskrit text that assigns a value to a letter, no classical locus for the number-to-planet mapping, and none for the friend-and-enemy grid that decides whether one root harmonises with another.
That is said plainly rather than dressed up, because the rest of this site cites chapter and verse and this cluster cannot. The arithmetic is exact and you can repeat it by hand from the tables above; the meaning attached to a root digit is modern practice, not scripture. Read a favourable number as a preference among shortlisted names, not as a forecast about the business.
Roots 1, 3, 5, 6 and 9 are generally considered supportive, with 5 and 6 especially favoured for trade and premium brands. Numbers 4 and 8 are usually avoided unless the owner's own numerology backs them.
Ideally the name's number should harmonise with the owner's Mulank and Bhagyank (Life Path). A prosperous name vibration works best when it does not clash with the founder's core numbers.
