Lal Kitab Remedies (Totke) Calculator

Lal Kitab — the "Red Book" — is famous for simple, low-cost remedies (totke or upay) that target a planet according to the house it sits in. This calculator reads your birth chart, finds where each of the nine planets falls by house, and gives the classical Lal Kitab remedy for every placement — no gemstones or costly rituals required.

What are Lal Kitab remedies?

Lal Kitab is a distinct school of astrology, set down in a series of Urdu texts in the first half of the 20th century, that blends Vedic principles with palmistry. It is best known for its upay — practical, inexpensive remedies anyone can perform at home, such as feeding animals, floating items in flowing water, keeping a piece of silver, or donating a specific grain.

These remedies work differently from classical Parashari astrology. Rather than prescribing a gemstone for a weak planet, Lal Kitab looks at which house a planet occupies and gives a targeted totka for that exact placement, aimed at calming a troublesome graha or supporting a helpful one.

How your remedy is chosen

Lal Kitab reads each of the twelve houses as an area of life and judges every planet by the house it lands in. The remedy is matched to that planet-and-house combination, so the same planet can call for a very different upay depending on where it sits. Each planet also has a signature remedy that runs through its placements:

  • Sun — offer water to the rising Sun and donate wheat or jaggery on Sundays.
  • Moon — keep silver with you and offer milk or water at a Shiva temple on Mondays.
  • Mars — feed sweet chapati to dogs and offer sweets at a Hanuman temple.
  • Jupiter — apply a saffron tilak, worship Vishnu and donate yellow items on Thursdays.
  • Saturn — feed crows, keep a square silver piece and offer mustard oil to Shani.
  • Rahu — float barley or a coconut in flowing water and keep a solid silver item.
  • Ketu — feed stray dogs and donate a black-and-white blanket.

How to get your Lal Kitab remedies

  1. Enter birth details: Provide your date, time and place of birth so the house each planet occupies is calculated correctly.
  2. Read each placement: See where all nine planets fall by house, with the effect the Lal Kitab assigns to that placement.
  3. Do the remedy: Follow the simple totka listed for each planet, giving priority to any troublesome placement.

Frequently asked questions

What are Lal Kitab remedies (totke)?

They are the simple, low-cost upay prescribed by the Lal Kitab, such as feeding animals, floating items in flowing water, keeping a piece of silver or donating a grain. Each remedy is matched to a planet based on the house it occupies in your birth chart.

Do Lal Kitab remedies replace gemstones?

Lal Kitab deliberately avoids costly gemstones and elaborate rituals; its whole appeal is cheap, practical totke that anyone can do at home. Many people use them as an affordable alternative to wearing stones, though the two systems can also be followed side by side.

How should Lal Kitab remedies be performed?

They are traditionally done with faith and consistency, often on the planet's own weekday, and in a way that harms no one. It is usual to begin with the remedy for the planet causing the most difficulty in your chart and to continue it regularly.
