Vedic Prashna Calculator

Prashna, or horary astrology, answers a question from a chart cast for the exact moment you ask it — no birth date or time needed. This tool follows the classical Prashna Marga method: it reads the Lagna (you, the querent), the Moon (your state of mind) and the 7th house (the matter asked about) to give a clear favourable or unfavourable verdict, along with the likely category, timing and recommendations.

Ask your question
Focus on a single question, then submit — the chart is cast for this exact moment.

How a Prashna chart answers your question

In Prashna, the moment a sincere question forms in your mind is treated as its 'birth'. A chart is cast for that exact date, time and place: the rising sign (Lagna) stands for you, the querent, while the Moon shows the state of your mind and the sincerity of the question.

The 7th house — and its lord, the Karyesha — represents the matter you are asking about. The classical answer turns on the link between the Lagna lord (Lagnesha) and the Karyesha: an applying Ithasala yoga between them promises the matter, while a separating Isarapha yoga suggests the opportunity has passed. From these connections and the overall strength of the chart, the tool derives its verdict.

What your Prashna reading covers

Every reading returns a structured verdict along with the reasoning behind it:

  • Verdict — favourable, moderately favourable, challenging or unfavourable, with a confidence level.
  • Lagna and Moon — your standing as the querent and your state of mind at the moment of asking.
  • Question house (7th) — the strength of the matter you are asking about.
  • Category — automatically detected from your wording (marriage, career, business, finance, property, children, health, litigation, education or travel).
  • Timing — the likely period in which the matter may resolve.
  • Recommendations and remedies — practical suggestions drawn from the chart.

How to ask a Prashna question

  1. Set the moment: Confirm the date, time and place of the question, or simply use now — the chart is cast for that exact moment.
  2. Ask one question: Enter a single, sincere question; the tool detects its category automatically from your wording.
  3. Read the verdict: Get a favourable or unfavourable verdict with Lagna, Moon and 7th-house analysis, timing and recommendations.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my birth chart or birth time for a Prashna reading?

No. Prashna reads the chart of the moment you ask, so no birth date, time or place is required. You only set the time and place of the question itself.

How is Vedic Prashna different from KP number horary?

Vedic Prashna casts a full chart from the date, time and place you ask and follows the classical Prashna Marga method. KP horary instead starts from a number between 1 and 249; this tool focuses on the traditional Prashna approach.

What kind of question works best?

Ask a single, sincere question with a clear outcome — such as one about marriage, a job, finances, property, health or a court case. A focused yes/no style question gives the clearest verdict.
